We Provide The Most Effective Rehab in Mooresville
At Adapt Performance & Training, we want to help you live well and move smoothly. The vast majority of knee, hip, back, neck, and shoulder pain can be traced back to movement patterns that have degenerated from a sedentary lifestyle or a desk job. When your body starts to move, it creates stress in your joints and your muscles, and improper movement patterns can lead to aggravation, inflammation, and pain. Our Physical Therapy program is here to help men and women across Mooresville address these symptoms and live life without worrying over aches and pains.

FAQs:
At ADAPT, your Physical Therapist takes the time to truly understand you — not just your injury. We start with a detailed discussion of your medical history and a comprehensive physical assessment to uncover the root cause of your limitations. From there, we explain our findings clearly, design a personalized Home Exercise Program, and build a customized plan of care that aligns with your unique goals. Our team goes above and beyond to ensure you feel supported, informed, and confident every step of the way on your path to recovery.
At ADAPT, we’re your go-to destination for all things physical therapy. We work with clients of all ages and activity levels — addressing everything from neck, jaw, and back pain to hip, knee, ankle, and foot issues. We also specialize in helping those dealing with headaches, vertigo, dizziness, and balance challenges, as well as post-surgical and joint replacement recovery.
Our team also works closely with athletes recovering from injuries, helping them return to their sport faster, stronger, and more resilient than before. What sets ADAPT apart is the time we take to truly understand your body, your goals, and the root cause of your pain. We don’t just help you feel better — we help ensure the problem doesn’t come back. At ADAPT, your recovery isn’t just about healing — it’s about long-term performance and lasting results.
No! The state of North Carolina allows “Direct Access” to Physical Therapy. This means you are not legally required to have a Physician’s referral before seeing a Physical Therapist for an evaluation or treatment. However, some insurance coverage may require you to have a referral or “authorization” before they will approve payment. You should contact your insurance company beforehand to determine the process they require, or contact us for assistance. If you are under the care of a Physician and you require Physical Therapy, you have the freedom to choose which Physical Therapy clinic to receive your treatment from!
Yes! At ADAPT, we accept payment from your FSA and HSA for Physical Therapy expenses! Upon request, we can provide you with a superbill to submit claims to your insurance company and to submit for reimbursement from your FSA and HSA. And don’t forget that you are also getting the benefit of one-on-one, full-hour sessions, and faster results at ADAPT! If you have an FSA or HSA account, know that Physical Therapy is an eligible health care cost! FSA accounts expire at the end of the year, so contact us today to schedule your Physical Therapy evaluation and put that FSA money to good use!
We do not accept insurance because we provide a high standard of care that insurance is not able to reimburse. Our treatment approach includes one-on-one care for a full hour using skilled, hands-on techniques and functional exercise to help you achieve your individualized goals. This is in stark contrast to many outpatient Physical Therapy clinics who co-treat multiple patients at once due to current insurance reimbursement. We believe you deserve better care and a better experience than this, and we refuse to allow an insurance company dictate your care. Upon request, we can prepare a Superbill for you that you can easily submit for proof of your session(s) to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.
Ask us about our customer financing option!
Most insurance companies, with the exception of Medicare, will provide payment for services received "out-of-network". The amount of reimbursement or application towards your deductible is dependent on your insurance plan. You can send "self-claims" to your insurance company for your treatments at ADAPT by, for example, printing claim forms from your insurance company's website and sending it in with the necessary receipts and treatment codes that will be provided upon request. If you call your insurance company to inquire about this, you should ask about reimbursement for "out-of-network Physical Therapy" expenses sent in via self-claims.
Medicare Beneficiaries: If you are a Medicare beneficiary and are adamant about seeing us for your care, it is important to note that we are not participating Medicare Providers. However, we can provide Physical Therapy services to Medicare beneficiaries as long as you do not involve Medicare in payment for Physical Therapy services and if this decision is made of your own free will. In the case that you do want to use Medicare benefits for Physical Therapy services, we unfortunately cannot provide you with treatment at our clinic but would gladly help you find a Medicare provider in your area for you.
